How to connect a 7.1 system if there are only 3 audio outputs on the motherboard?
I noticed that on all modern motherboards the sound scheme is 7.1, and there are only 3 audio outputs. Is it possible somehow to connect a 7.1 system to this motherboard without using an external sound card? Perhaps some kind of expansion boards or is it not possible? For example https://www.asus.com/ru/Motherboards/Z170-K/

Each socket is two channels. In total, you can connect 5.1 sound
Eight-channel sound can be launched through the optical interface, provided that it is output to a detachable frame.
You can join, but with one condition. Responsible for the number of REALTEK channels. We find the datasheet of your realtek and see how much it can withdraw from. If there is an output place on the board, that's good. If not, you will have to work with a soldering iron and bring 4 wires for 7.1 sound to a separate bar. You can also output SPDIF audio to the 14 pin HDVI connector with one wire. This contact is called eARC.
