BU server as a home PC - is it worth it?
I thought about whether to replace an old home PC with a purchased BU dual-processor xeon server
, as far as I understand the possible disadvantages:
expensive memory with ecc. but many support and the usual ddr
will have to install an external controller in order to install sata because support comes with an integrated tale and idea. at best, instead of saying -sas.
noise!!!! power usage!
pluses:
I don’t know if there is a real plus or not, but reliability. or a new regular budget computer is cheaper than a server 5 years ago from hp for example?
performance. although now, of course, massively 4 cores put the option with two dual-core xteons looks no worse, at least due to the size of the giant cache
, what do you say, gentlemen? is it worth it?
is supposed to be used as the main machine. for the server I already have the third stump. although it would be better to have something small, quiet and noiseless.

A PC is better, and a PC is also suitable for a home server, or some kind of atom server. They are quieter, usually cheaper, there is a video adapter that does not interfere, and in terms of reliability it is quite acceptable for home, and sometimes not only, needs.
I see that the technical data of the server that you want to buy is obsolete, as one of the previous interlocutors noted, the noise will fade your brain. It's easier to buy either a new or used server. I'm in the Squadra online store, I even found a server for 10 pieces. You yourself understand that those characteristics are not enough, but still it is quite suitable for some kind of portal or news site.
