How to connect a 3-PIN cooler to a 220V network via a PSU?
There is a task to connect a computer cooler to the electrical network, for non-computer affairs.
There is a Thermalright X-Silent 140 cooler, it says 12V 0.14A (MAX), 3-pin connector.
There is a universal power supply with adjustable output from 1.5 to 12V, 500mA.
I connected them, it’s hard to make a mistake here, but it doesn’t spin. Connected to the computer - everything is ok. What is it for? I always thought that 3-pin coolers can be connected without a control contact and they will work.

I figured it out, connected another simple cooler from a processor with the characteristics of 12V 0.28A. It works quietly from 1.5 to 12V, which is what you need. And it's actually 4 pin.
Why the first one did not start is a mystery ..
