Can a laptop overheat due to driver issues?
During energy-intensive processes, the laptop overheats greatly. Games, sometimes even too many open tabs, lead to strong heating, up to and including shutdown. Can these problems be caused by improper operation of the video card or fans?

Yes, it's possible. Especially due to improper operation of the fans.
Solve the problem immediately. The temperature protection operation will not lead to anything good. Or rather, just a laptop at one fine moment will no longer turn on.
* Give it to clean and replace the thermal paste.
* See what exactly loads the processor / video in the process.
Then look at the circumstances.
