How to adjust cooler speed when connecting 3pin to 4pin cooler?

I connect the cooler to a laptop from another.
Cooler 3 pin
red
blue (ground)
yellow
Connector 4 pin
red
black
yellow
blue
I insert yellow into yellow. Speed control does not work. Spins at maximum speed.
In Speed Fan, there is no option "CPU Fan" in the choice of cooler control from the temperature of the Core0 processor. But on the Fan tab, the CPU Fan is visible only to view the speed of the cooler.

As far as I remember, the 4th pin is used to adjust the cooler

I have seen motherboards, in whose BIOSes on the health page it was possible to set a profile for each cooler, choosing from three - silent, turbo and normal. And despite the fact that the coolers there were 3-pin, all this adjustment worked. So there is some way. And if there is not even such a thing, then you can turn on either a manual regulator with a knob
on the back panel, or a small block with a temperature sensor between the motherboard and the cooler (I didn’t find it on Ali, but I came across this somewhere).
