How to connect 2 subnets on different routers through VPN into one?

Hello.
There is Router-1, which holds the local network 1.0/24 and Router-2, which holds 2.0/24. ASUS routers. Routers are located in different places, there is access between them via the Internet. The task is as follows: it is necessary that devices from 1.0/24 can connect to 2.0/24 and vice versa.
On Router-1, an OpenVPN server was raised, but it issues 10.8.0.0/24 to connected devices. Okay, not a problem. We connect Router-2 as an OpenVPN client. As a result, Router-1 has the address 10.8.0.5, and Router-2 has 10.8.0.6. On Router-2, a line appears in the routes that to connect to 1.0/24, contact 0.5. Great, from 2.0/24 to 1.0/24 there are pings and even telnet on ports. But from 1.0/24 to 2.0/24 there are no pings, much less telnets. I check the route table on Router-1 and see that there is no necessary entry (ala for 2.0/24 go to 0.6). I try to manually add a route, but it appears in the list of route rules, but it is not in the current routes based on system information. Any other route is quietly created and appears in the router logs.
Asus jokes or am I really doing something wrong?
