How to configure in ceph OSD with disks behind hardware RAID?

We are preparing the infrastructure for migrating to a cluster with ceph support (proxmox 5.4, we stopped not yet because 6.1 appeared only yesterday, and there were many problems with 6.0, according to colleagues).
There are nodes on which part of the sata ports are behind a hardware RAID, and when OSD is initialized with a screw, only one hard drive out of 4 is visible behind the RAID (although it is strange, in theory, it should not see it at all).
Intel S2600CP platform.
I understand correctly - I need to create a RAID 0 on each disk and then the OSD will see them.
But then another question is if one of the disks behind the hardware RAID starts to crumble and errors appear in its SMART, then how does ceph know that it is necessary to disable osd with this disk, because in the smart system this screw is available via intel console cli.

Is there no way to give CEPH normal disks? No raid needed.
