How to configure authorization in WebDav?

Good afternoon.
Raised the WebDav server, on Win2k8 r2, in the domain. In LAN everything works fine, but from non-domain computers - when you try to map a disk through net use, it gives "System error 5. Access denied". I try to use both a domain account (under which I can connect in the domain without problems), and I started a local account on a server, added it to the Authorization Rules - the same error. What is the correct way to configure authentication/authorization for a WebDav server? And if someone tells me, I will be grateful: how to allow access to it by ip-address (I tried to specify it explicitly in bindings - it didn’t work either), otherwise it only allows it by domain name.
UPD: the machines that were tested are remote (and there are more than 50 of them), updates on them are disabled. The text of the error is as follows: System error 1224. The requested operation cannot be performed because user is not registered. Judging by what I managed to dig up on the forums, updates are needed that fix this problem. But remotely updating a fairly large fleet of machines costs with a written memo for dismissal retroactively in the nightstand, IMHO)) Therefore, I had to abandon the idea of a Windows Webdav server. While I'm looking at raising my own OwnCloud or something similar. If anyone has experience in installing and configuring, I would be grateful for feedback on the pitfalls of this service, or examples of analogues.
