How to choose the right monitor to connect to a laptop?
I choose a monitor to connect to an Asus N550JV laptop. The laptop has a native resolution of 1920x1080 at 59Hz. I want to buy a 27" monitor to work behind a large screen, but I'm not sure if I'm choosing the right one. I
took a closer look at the BenQ GW2765HT, but it has a much higher resolution and refresh rate than a laptop: 2560x1440 76Hz.
Do I understand correctly that:
1 ) If you turn off the
laptop screen, you can safely set the native resolution on the monitor
? It is worth taking a closer look in this case, I will be glad to hear advice.

It is not clear from the descriptions what resolution the laptop can output on an external monitor.
Or find a clear description of what resolution the laptop can give on an external monitor, or try to check before buying whether the monitor will start at 2560x1440.
