How to choose the right machine for mysql(MariaDB) server?
Good afternoon, the question arose of choosing a machine for databases for mysql server (MariaDB last stable)
The size of all databases is about 30GB, and it is slowly growing, there is almost no archived data, the database is actively used.
there
are 3 databases with MyISAM tables (1.5 GB) mostly reading, writing time for these tables is not important (and most of the time everything is unloaded into memory
)
, only, InfluxDB (20-30GB) - but it's possible
What interests you, one of the important questions is the processor, more hertz or more cores (threads)?
A comfortable amount of RAM (all our servers have a minimum of 64GB)?
Do we have SSD disks in soft raid (or better hard raid?)?

You need to look at the load, and not by who writes what on the toaster.
It is somewhere now, you see the load. munin, htop, what iron do you know.
Take a break from this.
64gb on a 30gb base is overkill.
It still does not hang all in the RAM. Even if the whole thing was hanging, it's overkill.
No one will tell you anything about your database and server.
