How to choose a simple project manager for a freelancer?
Good people, advise a simple (for a quick start) project manager, please.
But if there are no simple ones, I agree to any.
Of course, freeware/opensource is desirable.
The main working OS is linux.
After the number of simultaneous clients began to increase (1-2 -> 5-7 per month), I realized that I was losing everyone due to disorganization and peculiarities of my perception (I slow down a lot when switching between tasks). Personal qualities - let's leave it outside the discussion for now, I'm doing this separately. But I really need the right program.
I tried to organize my work with different tools - redmine, orage (linux), libreOffice Calc, googledocs, trac, notebooks, stickers, phone notes, etc.
Those requirements that I formulated for myself for the program I need:
1. Store information on current, future and completed projects
1a. A completed project can easily move back to the future or current
1b. of course, storing links to docks, pictures, etc.
2. Quickly (minimum clicks) change the current status of the project
3. Easy (few clicks) to break the project into tasks
4. Easy calculation of the time spent on each task
And at the same time
5. Auto-calculation of money (I score rates by time, for the entire project, for subtasks etc. - arbitrarily)
6. Calculation of future profits and money received, expenses, etc.
7. Access from the network, maybe some SMS, perhaps collaboration for two or three.
Who has some experience in this matter, do not take the trouble to indicate the direction of the search?

Look at the planfix (you need to look carefully, because at first glance it is simple, but upon closer examination it demonstrates significant functionality).

What you need is not a project manager, but a methodology for using a project manager.
I use the free version of teamlab, at the moment it suits me. Of the minuses, it should be noted a small amount of disk space of 1 GB, but this compensates for dropbox.
I know about gnukash, but the fact is that I was looking for how to combine project manager and money counting in one place. Do not write your own base and all sorts of crutches-adapters for this.
About the methodology - I guess). Here I am making it. Over the past 10 years, I have not yet succeeded in overcoming myself lazy, and the loss of time has already become chronic.
The fewer clicks, the more likely it is that I will not give up reporting in two weeks, when I have another parka. It is worth forgetting once to shake, add, tick, etc. and the next day, as if on purpose, a blockage begins, urgent calls, reporting is not kept for a week, and then I will never master it. And start over.

maybe then it’s worth starting not with project management, but with time management? Brian Tracy Gleb Arkhangelsky to read, for example ...
ZYZH excuse "I don't have time to read books on time management" does not work :-D
Try to start using a bunch of dropbox + project folder + file in Word as a project plan, group chat, etc.
Or a word file in google docs.
Everyone laughs, but for many this is an ideal option :)
Well, it doesn’t know how to do all of the above, but it really helps the developer in his work. Unpretentious, separate tasks and grouping tasks into projects, counting statistics. pomodorka.ru
