How to choose a SATA to USB cable?

I needed an external ssd, but I thought - can I take an internal one with a Sata (or even better PCI?) connector and buy an adapter for it (a matter of not only budget, reliability, but also speed)?
Will the speed with the adapter be lower relative to the external ssd. And does it matter which cable to buy? It is clear that the speed depends on the type of connectors and Usb 3.0 will be faster than Usb 2.0, but are there any proven cable manufacturers using high-quality materials that significantly increase the stability and transmission speed compared to adapters from Chinese marketplaces?

External ssd and consists of a regular + adapter. Feel free to take a regular ssd and a case from orico or ugreen (the easiest thing is to take a transparent dexp - this is a relabeled orico). Required with usb 3.0. There are no special cables - they are all supplied from the same factory in fact.

An external SSD is a regular SSD + adapter + cable, it's just that it was assembled for you at the factory.
You can easily assemble it yourself, buy a disk, a container, a cable.
Any usb3 cable will do the job.
For compactness, you can take an m.2 drive and a small case.
