How to check if maps.yandex.ru is working using Javascript?

I want to just add a link in case the embedded maps cannot be displayed. Accordingly, show the link if exactly the cards cannot be opened. How to check availability of something via JS? You can throw a request to the server, but a lot of crap, I think.
