How to check if grub is configured correctly?

When executing the apt-get dist-upgrade command,
grub was unsuccessfully updated with messages that if you continue, the system will not reboot, etc. I pressed repeat several times, which led to the same errors.
Restarting the server and checking is quite dangerous, access to KVM on demand after 2 hours. How can you be sure that grub is working fine and rebooting won't be fatal to the server?
