The computer is running Windows 10 1903 linked to a Microsoft account. Decided to change the password by changing it in the account on the site. However, after changing the site, the computer still accepts only the old password when logging in. What am I doing wrong?

You did wrong by linking a cloud account to the system ...
make a local account, and do not use cloud

Did the computer exactly sync with the cloud after changing the password? You can try unbinding and rebinding the account. Or just go to settings. Should write something like: "oh, the password from the account does not fit, update!".
