Usually on a Mac it depends on the order of the languages ​​in the system settings. I don't remember the exact name of this panel, but there should be a list of languages ​​where you drag and drop them in order of preference. What if you have Japanese higher than English?
You can run it from the command line Coda.app/Contents/MacOX/Coda -AppleLanguages '(en)'. See also here for more ways .
