How to change the encoding when generating a certificate in LearnDash?

Hello!
Decided to check LMS plugin for Wordpress - LearnDash.
Everything in it is not bad, but I can’t understand ... why, when generating a certificate (in pdf format), instead of the name for whom the certificate (Russian), question marks are displayed!
Who knows - tell me the solution ... or at least where to dig ?!

It would be nice to see the table encoding in the database. I remember there was a similar problem with another plugin (for creating a glossary). It turned out that the plugin created utf8 latin_swedish, I changed it to utf8 general_ci and everything worked. You can also change to utf8 unicode_ci || utf8 unicode_520_ci || utf8mb4 unicode_ci etc.
