Do I need a higher education to get a managerial position in the future?

It so happened that I did not graduate from institutes. Secondary vocational education (college), specialty "Computing machines, complexes, systems and networks". I am currently a freelance web developer. But age (now I am 27 years old) makes itself felt, and I increasingly think about career growth. I am planning to go to work in the office.
Actually, the question is - will it be difficult for me to move up the career ladder without higher education? I like the job, but maybe sooner or later I will outgrow myself as a performer

As for managers, not all companies look for higher education, for them the main thing is to have experience, and not a little one. Still, a higher education would be a big plus.

Everyone has their own path. If you want a managerial position for hire, then of course the probability is less. But the question is posed as if it makes no difference what to lead. Development, product, business development... ? many directions. And education can be improved, but education and practice are not very related, so choose.

No, it is absolutely not necessary, we almost never teach leaders.
Well, at 27 you should already be earning 200 thousand a month if you grow at least a little bit as a leader, if not, then you don’t pull on a leader, you don’t have personal growth in your work.

If a leadership position is like a career, then of course education is needed. Yes, and not one. It is necessary that in the resume there were all sorts of business seeds, conferences. So what would be your publications, perhaps books or public speaking. Everything goes into a piggy bank. When applying for a very large position, all this will play a decisive role.
At what not just education, but a prestigious education. Good Harvard or Osford. After this line in the summary, the rest may no longer be read.
Naturally practice, skill, good temperament, be able to work with people. Without this, no way. This is the basis of the work. This is what success as a leader is based on. Namely, success will attract the attention of larger companies to you.
In short, one cannot exist without the other. Without successful practice there will be no advancement, without a good resume there will always be a limit to how high you can climb.
Conclusion. Practice affects the speed of advancement, education and all that on height.
