How to change MS Office temporary files on desktop?
I have "networked" desktops configured. Not a profile, but a desktop, i.e. redirection of the desktop folder to the network share is done through GPO. The problem lies in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) on laptops on business trips. Until the VPN is connected, users cannot open applications due to the error: "Word could not open an existing file (Normal)." As soon as the user connects the VPN and refreshes the desktop, he has his shortcuts, links, etc., and MS Office works correctly.
I understand that when the application is opened, some hidden temporary files are created from the normal.dot template, and since there is no network table, there is nowhere to create the file. I went through all the settings in MS Office but did not find links that would lead to the desktop folder (even if it was local).
How to change the default path?

You need to include Offline files together in Folder Redirection.
There are even official docks from MS on deployment.
Then, in theory, the folder will hang in the Offline Files cache.
