How to carry out a competent upgrade of the 1C server?

Good afternoon. Help with 1C server upgrade.
Short story.
Initially, everything was set up with a file option while there were 5-6 users at the same time.
Gradually, the number of users grew and eventually it turned out that 10-12 people could work at the same time.
The databases were transferred to the SQL (postgresql) version, it became better, but a few more people were added and the brakes in work appeared again.
Server specifications:
Motherboard: Asus P9D-X,
Processor: Intel Xeon E3 1220 v3,
RAM: Single stick 8GB DDR3 1600.
Hard drives: Two 1TB configured in RAID1.
Lokalka between clients and the server - 1 gigabit.
OS on Windows Server 2012.
We did not choose a configuration. As they say, we give it and we use it.
Bases up to 1GB in size if you upload their backups. Base 3.
Accounting, ZUP and Diet and Nutrition.
What can be added/improved in the current server configuration to make the work faster.
Does it make sense to install an SSD drive? Will it give rise? Basically, lags occur when any reporting is generated.

In general, no matter what is used - it is worth removing the performance profiles. Based on this, bottlenecks will be identified. Perhaps the disk subsystem, perhaps the memory, perhaps the network, perhaps the processors.
So for starters - at least perfmon, and then in more detail on the components. As a result - what is missing and to whom.
Based on this, it may well be that the conclusion will be that it is necessary to go to the recommended scaling options in the form of spacing all links to different servers, each of which will have different requirements for a part that is critical for the function.

Users, go, sit on rdp, then the memory is desperately lacking. And if through clients, then cut the postgri config, for such small bases, the configuration should be enough, in theory. It is doubtful that conditional accountants heavily loaded disks. But it definitely won’t be worse from ssd, just don’t forget that if they die, then suddenly. Backups are our fsyo.

About 5 times we tried to spin 1c on windows server 2012 and the file and server version on both postgree and ms sql, always the brakes from scratch. I don't know why, but I never managed to make friends. Windows server 2008, 2016 flight is excellent from the first time.
