Hello.
Given: a set of points given by geographic coordinates.
Please tell me links to formulas for converting a set of points into an ellipse as shown in the figure:

Possible directions:

computational geometry - minimally enclosing ellipse
mathematical statistics - scattering ellipse

How will the calculation change if the points have different weights?
