How to buy a domain from an intermediary / squatter / old owner? How is the price determined?

Friends need your advice.

Background: There is an old manufacturing company in Russia (20 years of history). This year we thought about buying a short domain name (preferably in the RU zone). But the domain name consonant with the abbreviation in the company name was taken. The name is short (less than 5 characters). For simplicity, I will indicate it as XYZA.RU. It turned out that the XYZA.RU domain has been registered and rented by squatters for 15 years. There is no XYZA.RU site now, and as far as I can see from the Webarchive, I don’t see any sites either.

Questions:
1) How is the price determined? Traded directly with the old owner? Or are there sites?
2) How and where to check the history of XYZA.RU domain? Are there any black spots on it in history? (Suddenly, in 2005, an ISIS website was placed on this domain)
3) Is it possible to see somewhere the prices at which similar domains ABCD.RU / DEF.SU / XYZA.COM were resold?
I see in the articles that there are such registry services, but I don’t understand how to use them (for example, here https://rb.ru/longread/otday-svoy-url/
5. Double-check
The history of sales at auctions is in the public domain, where you can always see the price at which the domain was purchased.

Where is this service? how to see the history of domain sales in it?)

buy - exactly one option: contact the current owner.
and it is far from an option that he is interested in selling, or the price will suit you.
although the domain may be owned directly by the registrar. and they usually either put them up for auction or at a premium price.
in any case, for a well-known and promoted business, a short domain is a bonus, not a must-have.

The only sensible solution in this situation is to simply choose a different domain.
Buying from squatters is like paying terrorists. This only stimulates this, so to speak, "business". And on the rise.

The safest and easiest way to redeem is through major players in this market - such as GoDaddy - there is a special service on this topic. This ensures that you are not deceived. The price is set by the participants in the transaction, of course))
