How to boot Windows 7 on iMac without a CD drive?

Good afternoon.
Introductory: I have an iMac, installed 10.9 on it, made a partition for Windows through bootcamp, installed win7 there using winclone.
After that, when I try to start windows - I see a black screen with a blinking cursor. Delivered rEFIt - speaks tables GPT and MBR are synchronized.
Then he accidentally left the disk with win installed in an external drive turned on, and lo and behold, it turned on.
Pulled out the drive - stopped booting. While as a crutch I use this drive.
Very strange magic. What could it be?
