How to automate font assembly in GULP?

There is a ready-made assembler that I honestly rewrote from the CodeQuest course.
The assembler can do a lot of useful things, but.
As a coder, I have not mastered several important things that I will encounter in layout:
1. How to automate the assembly of fonts into one file so as not to kill a lot of time at this point with gulp.
2. How important is svgsprite and everything related to it?
Or do not focus on one collector and connect fonts manually?
