How to apply proxy in mint without reboot?

Good afternoon.
At work, a proxy is used, so they come to work, you need to turn on the proxy so that there is Internet, and restart the computer. I use Mint 17 xfce
What service can be restarted to make the proxy work without restarting the entire OS.

export {http,https,ftp}_proxy="http://proxy-server:port"

Thanks in advance.

Your setting will only work for those applications that support working through a proxy using environment variables.
Therefore, if it doesn’t work for you right away, restart the application you want, but be aware that not all applications will work through a proxy, and some require personal settings.
PS
And in general, you do not need to restart a computer with Linux at all under any circumstances. Even if you rebuild the system kernel.

It should be easy enough to relogin. You can make different accounts for home and work, or use a script to apply proxy settings when logging in, depending on the network settings.
