How to animate several objects with one animation in unity?

The question is. I watched a video in which the author shows how he animates in one clip called "run" 2 of the character's legs (running animation). When I try to do the same thing, Unity doesn't let me animate 2 legs with one clip, it says that I need to create another clip with a different animation for the second leg. And if I use the same animation for the second leg as for the first, then the movements are simply mirrored. Is it that if I want to make a run animation for a character, I have to do it for each new body part, for example, the hair, the run2 clip, just to show that the hair on the head shakes when running? Or is it something I didn't understand? I just started playing game dev.

I understand that each part of the character's body you have is a child object of some kind of dummy. In general, just animate this blank and move the child objects (body parts) to create the animation.
