those. related to web site administration and promotion

And what's with the logs?
Promotion: Usually they put a yandex or google counter and conduct research on their (ready-made) tools for traffic analysis. There is much more information than in the server logs. Logs are needed for completely different purposes, for example, to eliminate errors.
Web administration: too broad a concept. If this is content management, then there are CMS for this. If server management, then again what are the logs for? What is your goal? Anything to administer through the server logs?

For similar purposes I use Log Parser + Log Parser Studio .
SQL-like query syntax.
Very clear and convenient.

How is work with logs implemented, their analysis?

For starters - awstat or Webalizer.
And errorlog - just eyes. If the site and server are working properly, it should be empty :)
