How to add DNS entry in hotspot on android device?
Hello.
I create a WiFi network without Internet access (just local). On an android device (such as Android MiniPC MK908 or a tablet or phone), I create a WiFi access point.
From another device I connect to this network, I can ping the address of the access point and other devices on the network via IP. According to the information about the network on the connected devices, the DNS server is the access point (specifically, in my case, the address is 192.168.43.1
) then the name, for example "main", and the web server running on the device where the access point is open would give some page?
Those. the goal is for the connected device to convert the address main-> 192.168.43.1
It is highly desirable without dancing with a tambourine on a device that connects to the network.
Thank you )

I beg your pardon. I tried again to enter the address in the /etc/hosts file on the device where the access point is running, and oddly enough, it worked.
It turned out that if you do not add a newline in the last line, then for some reason the name does not resolve.
And if you run this one, client devices do not see it?

Clients see it if they manually rewrite DNS.
I also want the address by name to be available by default when a client device connects to the network.
In principle, the root of the law, etc. access to the device on which the access point is launched is.
For programming (if we are talking about web development), even the most powerful computer will do. It already depends on your preferences.
The senior front-ender at my job sits at a laptop with 2GB of RAM. Nevertheless, he is such a programmer .
So, I do not think that it is worth advising you a specific model.
If I was buying a new computer, I would take some kind of MacBook or iMac. Or maybe not, maybe I was sitting on a laptop under linux, I don’t even know :)
Like it - take it. You can always put an SSD in it (if it is not there yet, it significantly speeds up the work of all assembly tools and the responsiveness of the file system in general, I can’t imagine life without an SSD), at least 4 gigs of RAM (so that the system does not go into a swap when you have open heaps of tabs in the browser, IDE, any development tools, etc.) or better 8 (fortunately, this is not a problem at all now). Processor... more cores more happiness. If there is some kind of core5, then it's enough for the eyes.
Dell has always been the most expensive laptop, more expensive than apple.
Try to choose something else if you are concerned about the price.
Mandatory criteria: 8-16Gb RAM, SSD, i7.
I advise you to watch something from Lenovo Price/Quality/Complete set at the level, I write with Lenovo G580, i7-3520m, Ram: 6Gb, Nvidia GTX 630m, HDD 5400rpm 1Tb. I took it for 30k at one time, about 3 years ago. Still satisfied, and the performance is enough for work, a couple of toys. Monique 15.6 TN matrix is not very satisfied, the resolution is 1366x768 standard for a laptop.
I myself am a layout designer, I work in the following environment: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas. From programming and layout languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, C++, too, when needed. One of these days I will study 3dMAX, see how my equipment will show itself.
Therefore, the laptop is enough to work without problems. Although there is a hospital at work. At home-notebook, At work-stationary. Like this. I think it helped)) Good luck in choosing!
if some sites slow down - they load the processor, there is enough RAM, the video card is built-in - do you need to install a powerful external video card or a more powerful processor?
