How to add absolute path to site images?

The site has a single entry point index.php, the site itself is at /var/www/site, and the pictures are at /var/www/image. Images are accessed according to the site.ru/index.php/image.jpg type.
How to redirect from /var/www/site to /var/www/image for image access?
