How to add a dashed domain to a host file?

Hello. I'm trying to create a virtual domain, but if there is a dash character in the domain, then it is not processed.
Those. doesn't work like that

127.0.0.1 my-domain.com

And so yes

127.0.0.1 mydomain.com

How to solve this issue?
