Virtualization

How safe is it to have 1000 virtual machines in one network segment and what are the risks?

Hi people!
There are plans to expand servers in Data Centers. The total number of virtual machines will be in the range of 800-900. We decided to allocate a separate subnet for all this, well, let's say 22 (255.255.252.0).
The network will extend to all Data Centers.
Are there any downsides to this solution? Are there any advantages to this solution? What does this threaten us with?

Broadcast will gobble up a significant part of the network bandwidth. Considering that you will also have it stretched over several data centers, the throughput will drop even more noticeably, given the long pings between data centers.
The second point - depending on what kind of virtual machines it will be. If these are all virtual machines of different clients, then security will suffer, this is a fact. Unless, of course, you have some tricky technologies for isolating clients from each other, such as vmware vapp fencing.

of the minuses, this is probably a broadcast ...
it will be noticeably more than, for example, in the 24th grid
