How relevant is it to put the xanmod kernel on a server with a minimal configuration?
Recently, thanks to the article https://habr.com/ru/post/569198/comments/#comment_... and the link in the discussion to https://notes.valdikss.org.ru/linux-for-old-pc- fro... discovered the xanmod kernel and the ability to disable protection against CPU Specter and Meltdown hardware vulnerabilities. I will say this, I am impressed with the invigorated laptop on: core2 duo e9600, 4096mb.
I have a VDS with the following specs:
Ubuntu 20.04
x86_64
5.4.0-88-generic
MemTotal: 2035368 kB
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 13
model name : QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+
stepping : 3
microcode : 0x1
cpu MHz : 2194.842
cache size : 16384 KB
cpu cores : 1
bugs : cpu_meltdown spectre_v1 spectre_v2 spec_store_bypass l1tf mds swapgs itlb_multihit
So here's the question: Can/should I put the core https://xanmod.org/ on the server to improve performance?
and how safe is it in practical terms to disable CPU Specter and Meltdown vulnerabilities?

On a "dedicated server" if only you have access, disabling these protections makes sense and is generally "safe".
But on VDS, firstly, it's pointless, secondly, it's "unsafe", and thirdly, it won't work :)
VPS will not allow you to do this, as written above.
besides, if the processor is clogged to the eyeballs, it is easier to add processor cores to the VPS through an upgrade than to take such risks, squeezing out the rest.
Modern software is remarkably parallel.
