How realistic is website promotion without advertising?

Hey!
I don’t like SEO and don’t believe in marketing, but in a week I heard something like this from two people: “I want my company’s website to rise to the first page in Google, but I’m not ready to pay a thousand dollars in Google adwords and metrics. How to make a promotion without investment?
Frankly, I fell into a stupor. I've never been interested in promotions. I consider contextual advertising, pop-up banners and keyword optimization to be quackery, and the authors of such promotions are scammers. Honestly, I do not believe in pure SEO and I think that if advertising is needed, then it is an expensive pleasure.
So I decided to ask some thread of advertising specialists: do they really promote sites without investing in advertising, only supporting the site, or are they all lies and profanity?

Of course it's a lie. Advertising can be direct or indirect. Direct - you bash adwords, indirect - you bash the authors of the articles who write them and then the sites that host them. Okay, no articles. But still, you have to pay even for spamming links on the forums.
So your client will give you a thousand bucks anyway, but not directly.

Do not believe in marketing in vain, in the modern world, business without marketing is impossible.
Contextual advertising - brings traffic, but does not change the position in the issuance of PS. Everything is fair, how much you pay, so much traffic is poured into you. This also applies to banners in general.
Key optimization - it was relevant in the 2000s, today it is almost charlatanism.
But this is the typical thinking of the "clients" of these charlatans, they say about them: "they love freebies so much that they are ready to pay any money for it."
Nevertheless, a natural promotion in the issuance is possible, for this you need:

  1. A lot of unique content that is relevant to the queries that are being promoted. Stores and landings in this sense fly by.
  2. Behavior of visitors on the page (leaving a few seconds after entering is a sign of inappropriate traffic). PS "feel" this through their trackers, such as google-analytics.
  3. Integration with social networks and likes of living people. PS it is good "feel".
  4. There are still many subtleties in this matter that are not reduced to stupid key optimization.

Contextual advertising is not search promotion. it's pay per click, the fastest way to get visitors to your site. although most often it is throwing money away.
but without a budget, only through internal optimization, you can promote the site only for low-frequency queries.

1. SEO and contextual advertising are two different things.
2. Well, he is not ready, so he does not need it. Let it be invested in pigeon mail.

A site without ads is quite difficult to promote, especially on your own, and given the trends and increasing competition, this is almost impossible. Therefore, you should think about advertising. For my site, I ordered advertising on billboards , this is a fairly effective way of advertising!

You can pick up billboards here: selection of billboards . And I would advise you to use contextual advertising at the testing stage. As soon as it is clear that the site is functioning correctly, you can invest with SEO. True, this is not fast, work for the future.
