How realistic is it in the IT field to take a vacation for 2 months a year?

Good afternoon. Tell me, how realistic is it in IT (not freelancing) to find a company where they give a vacation for two months? For example, in a breakdown of 28 d + 1m (without payment). Can they lower it for a whole month at once? And so every year.

Of my acquaintances who are given vacation for 3+ weeks, these are teachers, teachers, the military, residents of the northern regions and some engineers can take 28 days at once.

I have a hard time letting go for two weeks in a row.

Why would you?
For 4 years I worked only 9 months a year - 28 days of vacation + a month with a tail for sessions (I was at the study). With a creak and scandals, but knocked out.
It also depends on who you work for. When I was a sysadmin, they let me go. Then they also released me as a programmer, but here it depends on the authorities, your value and connections, for me it is high, for example.

Only if you are such a cool and rare specialist to whom you are ready to offer such unique working conditions. Haven't seen anyone like this in 13 years. The biggest thing I've seen - about 45 days at ITMO because they are state. institution and then it’s not sugar to work there and they pay little

It’s easier to quit, take as long as you see fit and get a new job. Those. vacation in this version is the period of time from the old job to the new one. This is what I want to do in the future, because you need to fix the jambs for health. I think there is no need to explain that there should be a financial airbag)
Wherever I worked officially, paid vacation was no more than 2 weeks. Further - at your own expense.

At my company I heard what can be done as follows:
- Convert the 13th (full) salary into vacation time. Then yes, and then it is necessary to negotiate with higher management. Someday I will definitely try to use this opportunity on a regular basis :D

Yes, in general, take as much as you need, they need you, not you

1. How to agree.
2. If you are a key employee and a carrier of exceptional knowledge, it is problematic to take a vacation for a month, and even more so for two in a row. If you are an ordinary employee, then many companies have unpaid and paid leave - here you need to communicate with a specific manager of a specific project, whether he has such options.

Depends on your qualifications. No one will give June such a vacation on probation. If you have worked in the company for more than 1 year, you can additionally take unpaid leave.

You work for yourself (freelance) and do the work where it is convenient and anywhere. Enough of a stable Internet connection while roaming and a laptop with above-average performance. In this way, a layout designer I know stole himself in Bali, renting an apartment in St. Petersburg - he lives there permanently) Suddenly it will be interesting, then read why it is profitable to display on Sberbank , a useful article for those who want to work remotely (py.sy. the smallest% of the commission ).
