How not to donate your idea (startup) to sponsors?

Good sir!
There is such a situation, there is a personal project that I am slowly developing, one.
I'm talking "about this and that" with a colleague (he has absolutely no idea about mine), he said that he was eager to work on the project and that he had sponsors who were ready to invest. He has experience, I know for sure.
Actually the question is, how to discuss it with him without giving ideas? And how are such relationships built in general?

Ideas are worth nothing. People who are ready to bring ideas to life are important.
If you see that these sponsors are more interested in the idea than you and your colleague, then one of two things: they are either stupid or they really think to copy the idea.

The idea is worthless.
It's just the implementation. Do you have a potential investor who has the opportunity to do everything according to your idea? Does he have experience, resources? In this case, he has his own ideas too. And he doesn't need you under any sauce.
Invest in those who can realize. If you just want to sell an idea and do nothing yourself, then this is not called an investor search.
If you still need to do a lot to launch your idea, then don’t be afraid of anything, you are needed precisely as an implementer and you can’t get anywhere without you.

Have a couple of drinks with him at the bar counter and you will find out everything about him, and at the same time what he thinks of you.

An investor (if he is an investor, and not a fool who just burns his pockets with money and he thinks that the project would take off by itself would be money) is not interested in stealing an idea, since it is not clear who will embody this idea.
Teams capable of solving the problem are invested. Those who will break through the project are invested.

well, the idea itself is not critically important, many ideas themselves come out of the market and out of the needs of users, it is important in general to see and how people realize this vision.
Of course, if you need more people, you will have to talk about what and how you do and where you are going, of course, you shouldn’t tell the main tricks, for example, in marketing or monetization. but about what kind of product will have to tell.
and you won’t lose the idea, after discussion, in any case, it will be easier for the two of you to implement than for everyone individually, but even if, for example, he wishes to implement the same thing alone, you won’t lose at all from this, because you can spy on their movement and not repeat what - or unsuccessful steps, and vice versa to adopt what works. well, if he doesn’t work with you, well, you don’t lose from this either, because he didn’t work on this project before, for example.
in general terms, I think it’s worth sharing ideas, because of this the ideas themselves only get better, commercial secrets, of course, must be kept under seven seals (commercial -> this is know-how, what makes a really successful project out of an idea)

I have a personal project that I'm slowly developing, one.

develop further, get profit and invest part of it in advertising, hire a coder under a freelance contract and "saw" the development of functionality.
Here you can definitely do it alone!

Remember, it is best to go to an investor with a minimum sale, and a business that already justifies itself, and you need money to increase turnover and, accordingly, profit.
