Persuade the boss to redo the project?

The situation is this: There is a working project at a new job, the boss did it
The boss is not a coder, he wrote not very good code.
Now we are finalizing the application, and I do everything as I see fit and right. The boss understands what needs to be redone, but now according to the plan there is no time for this.
How to be? How to influence?
After all, by redoing the project, we will save ourselves from difficulties in the future.

. A very bad and ineffective motivator.
From practice, management loves and understands everything in financial and quantitative terms. Draw a presentation comparing the current project and support costs and a new project with support costs, show a clear financial benefit.

You should be more aware of what is most important for the boss, here is pure psychology. I was able to push through the need to redesign a web project by simply finding security holes. If you have the code, find the hole. Demonstrate a hack with penetration and indicate that there may be several such holes, this is just the one you found.

You can refactor in chunks as you add "new features" and "improvements". Reworking for a new structure that you should already have in your head =)

The next programmer will come, he will say that let's redo some kind of sucky code.

Maybe that's why he is the boss, because he understands business matters better than you?
There are 2 ways to make a project:
1. Cheap, fast, the main thing is to launch the most basic function and start selling, and use the money from the first sales to refine and polish the code. It is usually used when there is no certainty that the project will "shoot", and the money invested in it is a significant amount for the company or even taken on credit.
2. We swell 3-5 million, spend at least 9 months on development, then for another 3 million 5 months we finalize and lick it. We launch on the market with a very thick advertising campaign. This is usually done by large market players who have a certain position and resources, such a project will in any case find its audience, and even if it does not, the company will not suffer much from this. An example of such a company is 1C.

I run into this situation every time. So don't despair. Agree on a step-by-step approach before properly arguing the need (if there really is, and not just because your "ego" tells you that "simple" is better). Consider the above tips - they are objective.
