How much free space on the C drive is required to update to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and also, is it possible to force Windows Update not to download 3 GB of updates with each fail, with my 1 Mbps Internet, I'm already running out of patience.

Update, with the condition that 8.1 is updated all the way - 2.2GB, disk space - 4GB. Pro version.
