How to understand what is occupying the disk?
When you try to format or delete a partition, it says "Disk D is in use"
and what can be done forcibly, but the probability of problems is not zero.
I go to the Resource Monitor> Disk tab> Disk Activity section> File column:
NO PROCESS ON THE LETTER D!
The Storage section is generally empty.
I'm trying Process Explorer.
The parh tab probably points to the executable file, and not to the one used by it?
In any case, there is no D. Only "C", "Access denied", "Error opening process" and emptiness.
In short, there's no way to tell, right?

I would use some kind of live usb with acronis or go with the software on board. Or through safe mode, if you are too lazy to do a flash, although everyone should have this, in my opinion. Most likely some kind of software (indexer or antivirus) accesses it. There is an unlocker, a program. It shows all blocking process handles and kills them if possible. But the latest builds are behaving suspiciously. So be careful, I haven't used it in a long time.

Try software that looks at disk access. I don't remember the names, but you can google it.
See what is using the disk.
Yes, the virus hangs :)
Boot from the isoshnik via a USB flash drive or a driver, and from a clean system, everything will crash.
