Domain name market

How much does it cost to renew a "premium" domain (for example, a three-letter one in the .dev zone)?

Registered a three-letter domain in the .dev zone. I overpaid several times compared to a regular domain, but it bothered me all the time that all the short memorable names in popular zones have long been taken, and I want to create my own website (and my mail), and here is such an opportunity.
But if every next year I am forced to pay the same huge amount, then such conditions do not suit me - in this case, it is better to look for a longer and less convenient name.
I didn’t find information on whether the renewal will cost less than registration right away. I'll ask the registrar directly, but I'd like to hear a few more opinions.

> Registry premium domains: Domains offered by the registry for a premium price. In most cases, when you transfer, renew, restore, or add additional years of registration to a domain, you're charged the initial premium price.
In short, it’s more correct to ask the registrar, but something tells me that it won’t be $12

Gentlemen, now is not the 90s, and not the 2000s, when there were five TLDs like no info + country codes. There are no idiots in the registry, and they perfectly understand that the spherical pivo.ru, if bought at a regular price, will be resold ten times more expensive. short, beautiful and easy to remember. Accordingly, it has commercial potential.
This is the market. What else do you want, so leave the controversy about the "air traders" alone until retirement, and face the facts.
Therefore, short words are reserved as premium domains. In this case, with .dev, the status of the domain determines Google as the owner of the entire zone. The registrant (i.e. you) pays the premium price to the registrar (the company from which you buy the domain), and from the registrar this amount is charged by the registry (owner-manager of the zone).
So transfers are not transfers, the renewal price will differ only in the mark-up that the registrar keeps for himself.
but all premium domains are different. Some premiums only have registration, and renewal is standard. Others have an increased price for both registration and renewal.
Eugene , ask the registrar for the exact price.
upd. and further. If you regret this registration, ask the registrar support if it is possible to cancel the registration with a refund. Suddenly lucky

What other opinions, what kind of nonsense? What opinions can there be about an objective fact?
Upgrade - $12. Unless, of course, you bought it, and not rented it. https://tld-list.com/tld/dev
