How much can you earn from developing your games?

Question out of curiosity. Heard about different categories of games, indie development, mobile, etc.
How much on average do they spend on different categories and how much do they receive revenue from them? What is the percentage of success, respectively, in different categories? Please do not take into account such giants as Blizzard, Ubisoft and the like.
Both personal opinions of those involved in the development of games, and links to objective data are welcome.

What is the percentage of success, respectively, in different categories?

If we are talking about turkey meat from Vasyan, then the success rate is approximately 0.01%, that is, within the statistical error.
If you decide to make iglyusetska alone and hope to make good money on it - do not waste time in vain, it will not work alone.

Do you know Flappy Bird? Everybody knows. Do you know Minecraft? Everybody knows. 1 developer. Millions of installations/hours of play. Dozens of clones. Did the authors foresee such a success? No. Luck? Yes and no. One of the important components is the stream
Okay, FB, MC, and how many more such games can be listed? Hundreds? I don't think. Dozens? Closer to the truth. How many are left out of this list? Thousands.

Let's go from the other end. What is it about your idea that you have to raise millions on it?

The question is too general and dozens of factors influence the answer. In short: from zero to millions.
And oddly enough, the main factor is luck - if you manage to "hook" the players with at least something, then the game will be successfully sold. Read the history of Undertale, Binding of Isaac, Minecraft, Stardew Valley... what can I say, even on 2048 clones people manage to make money.
