How many GB of RAM can be replaced?
Hello.
I have an Asus k501ux laptop. I want to replace the RAM in my laptop. At the moment I have 6 GB of RAM (4 GB soldered on the board + 2 GB separately). The maximum amount of memory in general: 12 GB. It is clear that the board is problematic to change. I want to change 2 GB RAM to a more powerful one. In this regard, the question is, how many GB can I change this RAM to? At 8? or 4 all the same? Thanks for the replies.

When asking questions of such a plan, it is necessary to indicate the model of the laptop in full, tk. There are at least 5 different options. Models may differ in the supported volume, and you can shove a 16-inch die into some.
Here you can, for example, see the parameters of a die that exactly fits your model.

Then you can pick up a die from any manufacturer available according to the required parameters.
Where did you get that the maximum amount of memory is 12 GB, everywhere they write 8 GB maximum
