How is workspace arranged in jenkins?

Please explain how the process happens (there is scm, jenkins downloads it, launches the pipeline from there), there is a master and a slave, so I don’t understand the whole mechanism, it creates a workspace on the master, throws everything from scm there, then launches it on the slave in which the workspace is also created and does everything swing with scm? How is everything connected?

On slave.
And on the master it will save logs and artifacts.
Run your job, and look at runtime and after where what.
