Hello!
I would like to write a project that I need as a thesis work. Kill two birds with one stone, let's say - and pass the thesis and a project for which there is not enough time to write. In the future, commercial use by me is implied. How are things going on the legal side? Who owns the copyright to the work? Can the university take and publish all my work, description, idea and source codes? Can a supervisor claim copyright? (by the way, experience and knowledge allow you to write the work yourself. The supervisor is needed for a "tick"). How can you be legally insured?

in accordance with paragraph 1 of Art. 1228 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, a supervisor is not recognized as a co-author of a thesis. Thus, all rights to the thesis belong to the student who wrote it. In accordance with Art. 1255 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the author of the work has the following rights:
1. The exclusive right to the work, i.e. the right to use the work at his own discretion in any way that does not contradict the law.
2. The right of authorship, i.e. the right to be recognized as the author of a work.
3. The right to a name is the right to use or allow the use of a work under one's own name, under an assumed name (pseudonym) or without specifying a name, that is, anonymously.
4. The right to inviolability of a work, which means that it is not allowed without the consent of the author to make changes, abbreviations and additions to his work, to supply the work with illustrations, preface, afterword, comments or any explanations when it is used.
5. The right to publish the work. The author has the right to publish his work, that is, the right to take an action or give consent to take an action that makes the work available to the public for the first time by its publication, public display, public performance, broadcast or cable, or in any other way.
According to Art. 1268 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, no one has the right to publish a thesis without the consent of the student. It is also not allowed to make any changes to abbreviations, additions to the thesis in accordance with paragraph 1 of Art. 1266 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
The supervisor, university or other person has the right to publish the thesis, make reductions, changes, additions to it only with the consent of the student. Such consent is provided in the form of an agreement on the alienation of exclusive rights, according to which the right to a thesis work is transferred in full. Also, a license agreement can be concluded, according to which the exclusive right remains with the student, and only the right to use the thesis is transferred within the limits provided for by the agreement. Such contracts must be in writing and are usually reimbursable. If the student transfers the rights free of charge, then this fact is directly indicated in the contract.
