GPL v.2 WP Theme Attribution?

There is a Wordpress Framework with a gpl v2 license. In the WP admin panel below it says that the developer is "Ivanov". Can I create my own WP theme with the author in my role?

You can specify copyright on your theme, but you can’t remove copyright from the framework.
