How is ICQ doing? Did they finally switch to UTF-8 or are they all sitting on different encodings?
At one time, I stopped using ICQ precisely because of the hemorrhoids with encodings (which I had even more than most because I needed several different alphabets, and not just Russian and English), in all other respects she was more than me what suits you (like no other messenger). Several years have passed since then. And how, cured? It is also interesting whether advertising was removed from the official client and whether they stopped regularly changing the protocol from which alternative ones fell off.
