How in demand is the profession of a web designer abroad? Is it possible to find a job as a layout designer, or is it necessary to grow towards front-end development for better chances?
Interested primarily in Finland and other Scandinavian countries.

If you are coming from Russia. Feel free to move, any programmers, as well as layout designers are more in demand abroad than in Russia. Nevertheless, I do not advise you to stand still. Someday all clients will learn HTML markup and CSS, then you won't have any work to do. Better start learning Javascript, then you can safely go and not worry.
