How important is ping to a website?
There are two servers: one in Russia, the other in Europe. Ping to the first is 20ms, to the second 70ms. How reasonable is it to keep sites on the first server if most of the visitors are from Russia?

It all depends on the importance of speed. I have seen enough sites that generate a page in 1000ms.
So, the difference between 1040ms and 1140ms is almost not noticeable.
Another thing, if you give for 10ms. The difference between 150ms and 50ms is quite noticeable.
Although everything will still depend on the site itself, on http2, on the number of objects and the architecture itself.
I would certainly choose in the Russian Federation.
if ping is important to users, then of course only in Russia,
if it is not important, then in Europe it is also normal
, and I hope the page generation speed is comparable.
