How hard is it to copy telegram?

Good afternoon, I’m just starting to dive into this topic, I can say I don’t know anything, I re-read everything I could google, but I didn’t find an answer for myself. How difficult is it to build your telegram client and ready-made libraries on GitHub, or does it take several years to grow to the level to start this?

If you mean "build a client from source", then 30 minutes with googling skills.
If you mean "write the same one from scratch", then, depending on the qualifications of one programmer, about a month for "it barely breathes and consists of fractalized crutches" to a year for "it looks like a program".
