Does flashing an Android device void the warranty?

I decided to buy Acer Liquid E, and I thought about this: what will happen to the guarantee if you get a root on it, or, for example, install an unofficial firmware (relevant, given that there will most likely not be official 2.3 on it)?

If you get a brick in the process, then yes. If you go through without problems, then no one bothers to make an anrut.

For example, HTC answered this question like this --> “Good afternoon, %% username%%! Thank you for contacting NTS. Yes, rooting an android device or changing to a modified firmware will void the warranty. Please note that you can contact us at our hotline *********** Regards, HTC www.htc.com »
I don't think Acer will answer otherwise.
