How good is the ENC28J60 module for Arduino?

Hello. I have a weather station with a display in my country house. Displays readings. But I wanted to organize the transfer of data to the server, and that, in turn, to the database. Put it all on the site. How reliable is the ENC28J60 module for 24/7 networking? A friend has one in his dacha, it seems that there were failures, though I don’t know why. Maybe the network is bad in the country to blame. In general, I want to know the opinions of people who use it. Thanks in advance.

The module is not bad in its work and works. The only requirements: these are the tolerances of several resistors and a capacitor, which must be carefully and manually selected. Well, you may have to experiment a little with Rbase - there you need to calculate it. The calculation did not help me, but again, by comparison, I picked up the desired value. This applies if such a chip is available. If not, then it is more convenient to buy a module from the Chinese along with an axle box.
What is bad about this module: connection speed. And so it is enough even more than with his head.

Easier really WiFi ESP8266. They are not expensive and, strictly speaking, they can generally replace Arduin (there are compatible firmware).

Works.
Although if you solder and breed yourself, you will be tormented. There, the requirements for components and the wiring is not the easiest. I took (for a long time already) a controller with built-in ethernet - PIC18F97J60 (but this is not an Arduino).
It is better to take as a shield.
Well, in general, now you can do it via wifi, although it may have become a little expensive:
